RES is excited to announce that Colin Mitchell has assumed the role of Director of Projects. Colin replaces John Provencher, who is transitioning to the core ED business for Rexel USA in the Northeast as the Vice President of Sales.
Upon graduation from Northeastern, Colin Mitchell joined Rexel’s Financial Leadership Program (FLP). Off program, Colin was promoted as a business analyst working with the VP of Strategic Marketing and Supplier Relations for Rexel USA. Colin was instrumental in building processes and procedures for supplier relations and co-op incentive programs, and spent a large portion of his time developing relationships with key manufacturing partners. In less than two years, Colin was promoted to a senior analyst focused on manufacturer terms, operations, and profitability. In the 2nd half of 2017, Colin was promoted to be the FPA Manager of Rexel Energy Solutions. In this role, Colin led budgeting activities, supported the payable and credit teams, and much more. In 2019, Colin’s role was expanded to include business-wide profitability and product analysis, which continually pushed him into the commercial end of the business. He has taken on a more progressive and active role in the day- to-day business of RES preparing him for his new role. John Provencher began his career in the industry with Munro Distributing Co Inc in 1997 in a Counter Sales position, and transitioned to Inside Sales, Outsides Sales, Branch Manager, and Projects Group Manager over the course of 13 years. In 2012, he became Manager of the Projects Group for Rexel Inc. and ran the Massachusetts Project House before re-joining the RES team as Director of Energy Projects. John oversaw our national support team and utilized his 23 years of industry experience to help our team supply the best service to our customers. John is very involved in working with the specification and sales team to ensure each and every customer is supported on a project-to-project basis. Whether it be logistic support, such as remote storage of material, or helping to maintain a tight delivery schedule, John is committed to an effective and efficient partnership with the customer. RES is also pleased to announce that Jose Amaral has assumed responsibility for Rexel USA Northeast operations as the Vice President of Operations, in addition to his RES duties in Operations, Procurement, Pricing & ERP Management. Jose began his career Munro Distributing Co Inc in 1995 in a Counter Sales/Warehouse position before transitioning to Inside Sales in 1999. He is a graduate of UMass with a degree in Business Management and an Associates in MIS. In 2002, Jose was promoted to IT/Pricing/Inventory Manager where he managed a staff of IT and inventory specialists, led the planning, development and deployment of new ERP System, Email, Website and Imaging servers, managed the migration of products, customers and matrices from legacy system, and maintained inventory, among numerous other initiatives. He was promoted again in 2010 as Director of IT & E-commerce, taking on additional responsibilities, and where he played a major role in the Munro acquisition. Since 2013, Jose has served as the Director of Commercial Operations & Procurement for RES. Congratulations to Colin, John and Jose!
