“Hosting a blood drive coincides with Rexel Energy Solutions’ core values of giving back to the community,” said Christopher Monoson, President and General Manager. “With a simple blood donation, we have the ability to help save the life of someone who could be a coworker, loved one or neighbor.”
Blood is routinely transfused to patients with cancer and other diseases, premature babies, organ transplant recipients and trauma victims, according to the Red Cross. “We urge community members to donate blood and help ensure that patients in local hospitals have a supply of blood ready and waiting before an emergency occurs,” Monoson added. “There’s no better feeling than knowing that your blood donation may give someone a second chance at life.” Donors of all blood types are needed, especially those with types O negative, B negative and A negative. According to the Red Cross, type O negative is the universal blood type that can be safely transfused to anyone, and is often used to treat trauma patients.
This two-year program is designed to help Rexel USA employees from all divisions in the early stages of their careers become exceptional individual contributors and leaders by providing them with the transformational tools, training, and resources needed to succeed within the Rexel business.
“The NExT program has been an amazing opportunity for me,” said Jeff Parker, “and I’m deeply grateful to be the first representative from RES/Munro to show the larger ‘Rexel world’ exactly what we do and what we can bring to the table in inter-division discussions.” Jeff has had the opportunity to participate in numerous discussions and delve into many topics applicable to the electrical distribution industry and business strategies, such as: managing and working with an multi-generational work force, exploring the relationship between Distributors and Manufacturers and how it’s impacted by the current state of the industry, how the influx of e-commerce/digital has effected electrical distribution, personality profiling, and much more. “Being positioned through this program to see how Rexel USA and the electrical distribution business as a whole operate from a macro perspective has been a great experience. The lessons I’ve learned about working with a multi-generational work force, as well as influencing different personality types will be an invaluable asset as I continue to progress in my career at RES and within Rexel USA,” Parker added. TAUNTON, MA, January 29, 2018 – Rexel Energy Solutions today announced the promotion of Ryan Maccarone as their new Director of Project Development and Specifications. The announcement was made by Christopher Monoson, President and General Manager at RES. “Ryan’s aptitude and contributions have been invaluable to the growth of RES. Today’s announcement recognizes and reinforces the outstanding performance and vast technical experience that Ryan brings to the company,” said Monoson. “His innovative thinking, product expertise, and creative vision will continue to enhance the value that Rexel Energy Solutions delivers to our energy efficiency partners.” This position was created in concurrence with RES’ initiative to focus exclusively on supporting Energy Service Companies and to align its support structure to that of an ESCO - spanning development through post project support. In Ryan’s new role, he will assist RES partners in designing and specifying the solutions that best align to a project’s needs. He will provide focused, detailed support on developing lighting projects for those ESCO customers that need this additional support on the front end of their projects. “This move further strengthens our commitment to provide solutions that have the most impact for our Energy Partners,” Monoson added. “I have every confidence that Ryan’s skillset will be additive to each customer that he engages with.” Ryan began his career in the lighting industry over 20 years ago at a northeast regional electrical distributor, where he held various positions in Lighting Consulting, IT and Management before joining the Munro Distributing team in 2009. When Rexel Holdings acquired Munro in 2012, Ryan was promoted to Quotations Manager and has built a team of lighting quotation specialists across the country. Ryan will continue to oversee this group at RES.
Scott Munro began his career 40 years ago at Munro Distributing, and the company grew rapidly under the leadership of Scott and his 3 brothers, leading to the sale to Rexel Holdings in 2012. Since the acquisition, Rexel Energy Solutions has expanded across the US, generating significant revenue growth.
“We appreciate the accomplishments of Scott and the Munro family, and we value Scott’s guidance and contribution in the transition of Munro Distributing to the RES team we know today,” said Brian McNally, Executive Vice President and CEO of Rexel North America. “Rexel Energy Solutions is positioned for significant growth this coming year and we’re confident that Christopher will lead our niche Energy Efficiency business unit in exceeding their goals in 2018 and beyond.” "I am grateful to have spent nearly 40 years with this team and deeply honored to have had the opportunity to lead the team as Rexel Energy Solutions for the last five,” said Munro. “I am very proud of what my Rexel Energy Solutions colleagues across the country have accomplished together. The leadership team and I have laid out a vision for the company that will guide Rexel Energy Solutions for many years to come, and this gives me great confidence about the future success of the team. Chris has been preparing for his new role as my successor for several years, and 2018 is the right time for him to assume his place as the leader of the company." “This is an exciting time at Rexel and I am honored to take on this role with Rexel Energy Solutions,” said Christopher Monoson. “From the dedication to our customers, to how quickly they adapt to succeed in the face of a new challenge, I am consistently impressed with the energy and caliber of our team. We will continue to grow and strengthen our national footprint while maintaining our position as a top-tier energy efficiency provider, dedicated to bringing best-in-class expertise and service to our clients.” Monoson becomes the President and General Manager after serving as VP of Finance for RES, as well as the acquisition integration lead after the sale of Munro Distributing to Rexel Holdings in 2012. Since joining Rexel in 2001, Chris has held various leadership positions within Gexpro, Parts Super Center, Gexpro Services, and Munro/Rexel Energy Solutions. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Siena College in upstate New York. Concurrently, Rexel Energy Solutions announces Marco Colangelo as their new CFO, replacing Monoson. A graduate of General Electric’s Finance Management Program, Marco has previously served as division finance manager for Rexel Northeast and as the Gexpro supply chain finance manager. This year, Kate Burkhard and I were in attendance from GEXPRO, along with Brittany Camera from Rexel USA. As an attendee and speaker, I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to participate in the various breakout sessions and roundtable discussions. The agenda included a phenomenal line-up of topics and speakers, including:
During my education session, my goal was to encourage attendees to think about how deep their business knowledge truly is, focusing on the idea that broadening your overall understanding of the Electrical Distribution industry will make you more valuable to your business. If your career goal is to become a leader, it's essential to understand the language of finance. At their core, all strategic decisions are driven by or have financial consequences, so if you can demonstrate your finance and business acumen, it will help you grow in your career. The audience seemed to really enjoy the discussion, and I received positive feedback that my session made finance accessible, so I was very happy with the session and the Bootcamp overall. Thank to you to the business for supporting our attendance - it was a great learning experience and opportunity to highlight GEXPRO at an Industry event!
