EVSE Software

Home / Solutions / EV Charging Stations / EV Software
RES has partnered with the top EV charging network software companies to provide users with a array of smart solutions that can be adapted to suit many needs. Whether you are looking for an all-in-one solutions or more of a hands-on customizable network, RES can match you with the right network software that will simplify owning and operating your EV charging infrastructure.

Networked vs Non-networked - What You Need to Know

Networked chargers are a significant component of a charge station network, and provides “intelligence” to the charging station and infrastructure. Networked stations can be electronically monitored, be seen or not seen by an EV driver, manage energy management,  and monitor/diagnosed and reset remotely. They have the ability to send immediate notifications should they stop working properly, and can provide reporting on items such as up-time, energy usage, users, and more!

Non-network stations lack the components to run software which does not allow the charging station to do anything “intelligent” beyond simply changing a station.  Non-networked charge stations are best suited for people who want to provide one or two charge stations for EV drivers to use at no cost. These charge station buyers typically see no need in the future to add more charge stations, nor do they need to control pricing or who is able to use the stations.

Type of EV Networks

Subscription-only access is when users subscribe to the service network, which typically requires an initial deposit and periodic deposits to keep a payment account active. Users then connect their vehicles and use a dedicated RFID card or smart phone app to initiate a charging session and complete payment transaction.

Open access where networks provide a subscription service and accept universal payment options such as credit cards. In California, all publically available charging stations must be open access according to the California Health and Safety Code Section 44268.2.
